Global Atmosphere Watch Programme (GAW)

The WOUDC, which is operated by Environment Canada Experimental Studies Section, is one of the WMO World Data Centres (WDC) under the auspices of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme.

The GAW programme has coordinated the formation of Science Advisory Groups (SAG). The individual SAG, among other duties, provides guidance to its corresponding World Data Centre by establishing guidelines in the areas of data quality assurance and data reporting. The SAG_UV (formerly the Scientific Steering Committee on UV or SSC_UV) was formed in 1995 and the SAG_O3 was formed in late 1997.
